First Sunday in Lent: Candle Liturgy LENTEN CANDLE LITURGY Reader 1: Today is the first Sunday in the Season of Lent. Give us the strength to make the changes that are needed in our lives and the courage to take on the work of transforming the world. Christ, you are the light of the world. God's mercy.
